The Knicks seem to be making lots of trade moves to clear salary cap space for the free agent class of 2010 to try get their hands on Lebron, Wade, Bosh or Amare Stoudemire. It seems as though none of those players will go to New York. Wade and Lebron will clearly benefit by staying with their respective teams. Bosh laughed off the idea the other day and Toronto has surrounded him with players on long term contracts to show they are serious about keeping him. The Suns also resigned Nash for a couple more years and have added some nice pieces for next season.
Although the Knicks might still land one of the other free agents like Carlos Boozer, Joe Johnson, or Yao Ming (who is now injured and career might be over) - none of those players is a franchise player like the first 4 mentioned. They are secondary option to the franchise players.
Good luck Knicks, at the moment I would say they are Clippers East….
