Know your jerseys #1

Even though Champion stopped making NBA jerseys in the late 90’s and adidas is the current supplier for NBA jerseys, don’t be surprised to still see new Champion jerseys on the market. The reason for this is the Champion still has the license for Europe to produce NBA jerseys. So you can still buy current players jerseys and throwback made by Champion.

Although the quality is a bit different to the ones made in the 90’s for sale in the USA, they are still great jerseys.

The way to spot a European Champion NBA jersey is by 2 things: sizing and interior color of material. The sizes on the jock tag for USA Champion jerseys are numerical (e.g 44, 48, 52, etc) whereas for European made Champion jerseys the sizes are written as S, M, L and XL. You will also find that the interior material is white in color on the European ones as opposed to the USA ones which had the same color on the inside as was on the outside.

So next time you see a Champion jersey with letters instead of numbers for the size on the jock tag, don’t always assume its a fake, its most likely the Euro version.
